My new website has arrived
I have been looking to build my own website for some time and i can announce that it's finally done and up and running.I was looking for a contemporary feel to the site without the awful clutter that you see on so many sites these days. The website draws together the various components of my art business with all my original drawings on display as well as links through to my greetings card collection,my limited edition prints and of course the blog here.A sort of one stop shop for all things clive meredith.I hope you'll find the time to have a look and of course i would appreciate any feedback you care to give on the site.the address is www.clivemeredithstudio.com

Clive, your new web site is stylish and easily navigated - I hope it bears fruit for you. I like that you've carried the "graphite" theme through to your web presence!
thanks for looking peter and i'm glad you found it easy to navigate,i do find so many sites out there are too busy and trying to do too much leaving the viewer bamboozled and bored.
Your website is great, clean, tidy and easy to navigate, which showcases your great art wonderfully.
Very nice Clive, I agree with Peter - your site is easy to navigate and looks very... 'cool' is the word that springs to mind. I'm currently in the process of updating my site which, as I stupidly created it myself, has taken me about 2 weeks already (and i'm only making subtle changes).
My only thought is, do you have plans to add the option to buy prints and cards directly on the site? The only reason I ask is that once you have clicked 'prints', you're directed away from the site, and people often don't come back.
I like the new website. Easy to use without the bells a whistles that some sites have which I find a bit tedious, especially when they take ages to load.
Your art work is amazing. I do graphite work myself but never anywhere near your level. I will keep on trying though.
Marion
thanks all for taking the time to add your views i really appreciate your thoughts.
nolon; eventually i would like to have prints and cards on my new site, however my prints and there sales are handled at present by my publishers this is why i have to link thru.if my card 'experiment' at redbubble proves worthwhile i will self publish and add to my site at that time.i agree that sometimes you can lose people from your site but at the end of the day if theyre busy buying my stuff elsewhere i'm happy :-)
marion;thankyou for your kind words and i share your dislike of over-gimmicky websites
Clive, there is a way around the problem of outside links taking people away from your web site or blog, and it has to do with the formatting of your links in HTML. Blogger won't let me post an example, but you can read about the options on this web page: http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/linking/_A_TARGET.html
I thought it might be to do with your publisher, but as you say, as long as they are going to a site that sells your prints, it doesn't matter.
