Sorry I haven't been by in awhile. I love this drawing. It has tells such a nice story to imagine in my mind. An elderly couple out by the shore. They are close together which means they are a happy couple. Is cockling like clamming (where you dig up clams)? I've never heard of it before- but I haven't traveled far from the USA. That's one of the things I enjoy about your blog. Great work.
hi karen,nice to hear from you again.cockling is indeed like clamming.on this particular spot on the beach cockles,razor shells and oysters can all be found given patience.cockles are basically a small clam and very popular over here.
