Barn Owl painting-bird complete

A quick photo of the painting on the board as it stands now.The bird is now complete all bar a bit of tweaking here and there.Ive deliberately attempted to keep this one a little looser than my norm,i didn't want the detail too tight as i'm always a little wary of a tightly detailed bird in flight looking more like a barn owl shaped kite than a realistic flying pose.Next step is to move onto the tree stump and not a moment too soon as my concentration was starting to wane after studying those feathers for so long.

Nice work Clive, interesting to see your owl as I have been working on owls right now as well. The snowy owls have visited our area this winter for the first time in 7 years and they have created quite a stir with all the 'bird' people, myself included. Owls are such an interesting bird and certainly not an every day sight.

thankyou wendy, owls are always a popular subject for artists and birders alike.i'm not surprised the presence of snowy owls has caused a stir, what a fantastic privilege and experience to see a truly wild bird
